3. Custody Service
VCBS is a registered member (Depository Participant) of Vietnam Securities Depository (VSD). In this system, physical security holdings are converted into electronic (or in other words, dematerialized) holdings. When opening account in VCBS, our client can be provided with all of security custody services, as follows:
- Transfer and settle securites: customer can use the Certificate of stockholder for this service. After filling in Security Deposit Application and waiting for the acceptance notice of VSD, all the security trading orders will be carried out simply, promptly and safe by entries of debit/credit in the client’s account in VCBS.
- Receive securities entitlements: Securities entitlements like bonus and rights can be credited to your account electronically. Cash benefits like dividends and interest will be forwarded to you directly and not through the depository.
- Freeze or lock your account: Customer can request VCBS to freeze their securities to take out the loans in which the mortage is securities. This process is also much faster than in the case of physical shares. When completing financial obligation, client’s account will be unlocked immediately for normal trading.
The custody service of VCBS will help individual and institutional investors avoiding legal complication and administrative cost.
Individual investors
- Securities Custody: you will have no concern in preservation of stockholder certificate.
- Securities transfer: with VCBS’s role of intermediary, there is no worry for customers. VCBS will carries out all money and securities trading promptly and exactly in client’s account.
- Securities Entitlements Implementation: customer will be informed about the securities entitlements which then will be entered in client’s account.
- Locking/Unlocking: customer can take out the loans easily by using securities as mortage.
Institutional Investors
With VCBS’s custody service, issuing organizations can avoid the burden of information disclosure, securities entitlements implementation ( dividend or interest settlement, principal payment, bonus securities distribution,...) transfer confirmation, deposit procedures in VSD... In addition to saving of labour cost and time, VCBS’s custody service provide other surplus values. With the role of intermediary and market-maker, VCBS increase the liquidity of corporate security and develop the brandname of issuing organizations in the financial market.
4. Securities Loan Service
This service of VCBS will provide more attractive investment opportunities for the customers (after the detailed instruction from Minister of Finance, SSC).
5. Finance Assistance Service
To meet the capital needs of customers’ investment activities, VCBS cooperates with Institutional Lender in Vietnam to provide the following services:
- Payment of securities and dividend in advance: this service allows clients to receive money immediately after the matching result or receive dividend on the final day of entitlements registration.
- Collateralized Loans: Clients can use the securities in their custody account in VCBS as the collaterals to borrow funds for investment in listed securities.
- Margin account: will be applied after the detailed instruction of Minister of Finance.
